Rebel Ventures - a project of the Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania - is a youth-run granola bar business that creates delicious and healthy snacks sold at affordable prices to the West Philadelphia community.
I worked for two years as a Wharton Social Impact Fellow at Rebel Ventures. During this time, I helped build the business, which included: conducting research, refining the business structure, documenting progress, evaluating areas for improvement, setting up an advisory board, establishing and managing partner and vendor relationships, creating a marketing and social media strategy, mentoring and teaching at-risk students about entrepreneurship and nutritional education and leading a team.
Now in its 3rd year of operation, we have sold nearly 50,000 bars and established relationships with over 15 public schools, corner stores, and other retail vendors.
